The Village of East Dundee (population est. 3,204) is seeking qualified applicants for a Part-Time Officer. The starting hourly salary is $27.51 DOQ. The weekly work schedule will be negotiable.
The East Dundee Police Department is an ILEAP Accredited Police Department, currently staffed by 13 full-time sworn police officers, including a Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, and four Sergeants. Also, there are six part-time sworn police officers, one part-time records clerk, and one full-time records clerk. Two additional full-time officers are budgeted for the coming year.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be an Illinois certified police officer and eligible for waiver from ILETSB. No exceptions.
* Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and midnight shift.
* Expected to be available for large village special events.
* Specialized skills and/or ability to speak a second language is desired.
* Must successfully pass the interview, medical, psychological and polygraph exams.
* Graduation from high school, or GED equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license.
* Proficient in basic computer skills.
* Ability to work effectively with the general public.
* Ability to work without direct supervision.
* Ability to communicate in oral and written form.
* Ability to understand and follow directions.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
