The Public Works Department provides a variety of services for the residents of East Dundee and is comprised of these operating divisions: Streets, Water, Sewer, and Buildings and Grounds. You may be surprised by what is buried in your yard or beneath your property. That is because most electric, gas, water, sewer and telecommunications companies are delivering utility services underground.  Illinois state law requires you to contact JULIE (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators Corporation) at least two business days (excludes weekends and holidays) before any digging project - regardless of the project size or depth. Even if you are digging in the same area as a previous project, notify JULIE. This is a free service during which JULIE will forward your calls regarding an upcoming excavation to the appropriate utility companies.  To schedule a JULIE locate, please do one of the following:
