The Planning, Zoning, and Historic Commission (PZHC) holds public hearings, reviews developments, and ensures the village’s comprehensive plan is followed by making recommendations to the Village President and Board of Trustees. The PZHC is made up of appointed officials who review applications, hold public hearings, and provide recommendations on items such as map amendments, special uses, and variances related to Chapter 157 (Zoning) of the East Dundee Municipal Code. Additionally, the PZHC reviews applications related to the village's historic district, such as certificates of appropriateness. The PZHC holds regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm. at the East Dundee Police Department (115 E. 3rd Street), second floor meeting room.

If one is interested in submitting an application to the PZHC regarding a zoning matter, click here for the applications page and here for a list of Village maps for reference.  As an additional tool for petitioners, Kane County offers a free GIS map online. This GIS feature may be useful to highlight locations, review boundary lines, or look up property PINs. Click here to access Kane County's GIS page.
